Yep. I had my 4th quarter review today at school. I was so nervous I wanted to puke...I don't really have much self-confidence in my work, but after the meeting with the head honcho of the game design program, That all seemed to change.
Now, I will admit, he hated my perspective landscapes, he told me to either improve drastically or just give up on it. But...I mean, he has a point. There is a reason why I don't put landscapes on my DA...
Yet he (and another teacher there) loved my figures. He showed me an example of someone who has a very similar style as me (more polished than mine, of course) and explained that he instantly got a job after graduating and it pays well and has amazing benefits! And that's my dream at the moment...to have a good job after school. The man went on to praise me for my solid work and encouraged me to work on becoming a character designer/modeler. And that is what I had hoped to do!
You guys can expect more traditional work from me here. And more 'realistic' characters. And by realistic I really mean more detailed.
